The biggest upset of the week belonged to Woodhaven, who took down 77th ranked Roosevelt, 64-36. Nick Maher threw for 62 yards and one touchdown and ran for 357 yards in the win.
Kennedy was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 10th to eighth in Downriver. The Eagles vanquished Lincoln Park 7-3 earlier in the week.
The Bears' dynamic duo of Kevin Matejko and Devan Stewart proved tough for the Warriors to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Matejko threw for 358 yards and four touchdowns and Stewart had 158 yards receiving. Brandon Sowards helped Roosevelt's passing attack out by catching six balls for 118 yards.
Roosevelt's Matejko and Stewart have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Matejko has thrown for 982 yards this season, while Stewart, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 21 catches for 449 yards. Maher from Woodhaven leads the league in rushing with 1101 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Truman takes on the Railsplitters. The Cougars' offense has scored 230 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Lincoln Park has allowed only 225 on the year.
A big matchup in Downriver this week will be when Carlson takes on Ron Adams's team. At the moment, the Marauders are in fourth, while the Bears are in third.
Allen Park moved up to 274 from 325 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Jaguars climbed the ranks as a result of a 23-22 win over Carlson.
