After losing to the Belmont Bison the last time they met, the Ponitz Career Tech Golden Panthers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Ponitz Career Tech walked away with a 56-45 win over the Bison on Friday.
Belmont lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Damarion Calahan, who scored 11 points along with five assists and two steals. Calahan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Denzell Ogle, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Ponitz Career Tech's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. As for Belmont, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
Ponitz Career Tech won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Thunderbolts at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th. Northmont presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Golden Panthers in Ohio (the Thunderbolts are ranked 98th, while the Golden Panthers are ranked 456th). As for Belmont, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
