It was a good run, but the Fauquier Falcons unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were outmatched by Meridian on the road and fell 58-23. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Fauquier has scored all season.
It was another big night for Maureen Tremblay, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds for Meridian. Tremblay continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Ellie Friesen was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds.
Fauquier's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6. As for Meridian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Fauquier will head out on the road to square off against Millbrook at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Meridian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Warren County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Warren County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Meridian is ranked 91st).
