The Mercy School Institute Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Wesleyan Christian Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Mercy School Institute and five for Wesleyan Christian.
Last Friday, Mercy School Institute came up short against ASTEC Charter and fell 30-18.
Despite the loss, Mercy School Institute saw an underclassman step up: Lujayn Alkalani scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Alkalani scored 15 or more points.
Meanwhile, Wesleyan Christian lost to Barnsdall on the road by a decisive 51-34 margin on Tuesday.
Mercy School Institute's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.2 points per game. As for Wesleyan Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.
