The Mater Dei Knights won the last time they faced the Johnston City Indians, and things went their way on Saturday too. Mater Dei came out on top against Johnston City by a score of 27-18. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mater Dei.
Mater Dei got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Trenton Zeeb out in front who threw for 195 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Murphy, who picked up 63 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Mater Dei's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-8 St. Teresa and 1-8 Marquette Catholic (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 31.6% over those games). As for Johnston City, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2.
Mater Dei does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Johnston City also has no future games currently scheduled.
