Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama is 9-1 against Westfield since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Wolfpack will square off against the Wolverines at 5:00 p.m.
Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama fell victim to Frewsburg and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears.
Ryland Posker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Westfield ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Brocton 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolverines have posted since April 15th.
Joey Russo and Logan Baum made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Russo struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Baum tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Westfield's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). At bat, Russo went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Baum went 2-for-4 with two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Russo a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trent Ramm, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Ian Kindermann also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Westfield pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Westfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to Westfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Wolfpack avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
