The Brandon Blackhawks pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clio. Brandon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clio apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Despite the loss, Brandon still got an impressive performance from Riley Abney, who scored 34 points. Abney scored a full 55.7% of Brandon's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Williamson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Brandon struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Brandon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Clio, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2.
Brandon won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Skyline at 3:40 p.m. on December 16th. As for Clio, they will head out on the road to face off against Arthur Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
