The Stevens Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to Taft. Stevens was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Taft apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.
Despite the loss, Stevens still got an impressive performance from Andra Stokes, who scored 19 points. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Mya Guzman, who scored 11 points.
Taylor Olson was the offensive standout of the contest as she dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. Alexis Castillo was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Stevens has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Taft, their win bumped their record up to 8-16.
Stevens will be playing at home against Brennan at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brennan will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Taft, they will head out on the road to face off against Sotomayor at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sotomayor will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
