The Harvest Prep Academy Eagle were the 59-49 winner over the Gila Bend Gila Monsters when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Harvest Prep Academy took a 67-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gila Bend. Harvest Prep Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Harvest Prep Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was KJ Legette, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. Legette is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Leo Cordova, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Harvest Prep Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Gila Bend, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
Harvest Prep Academy will be playing at home against Ajo at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Harvest Prep Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Tuesday. Gila Bend does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
