Softball Recap: Thursday's Defeat Ends Mead's Winning Streak

After a string of eight wins, Mead's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Mt. Spokane Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered since May 3, 2024.

Mead's defeat dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Mt. Spokane, the win keeps they at an undefeated 15-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mead will venture away from home to face off against Ferris at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Saxons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.25 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Mt. Spokane, they are taking a road trip to take on Cheney at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blackhawks have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
