Mill Creek is on a 16-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Camden County is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Mill Creek Hawks will take on the Camden County Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mill Creek walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Lions 59-20 at home. Mill Creek's win was all the more impressive since Peachtree Ridge was averaging only 17.58 points allowed on the season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mill Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cameron Robinson, who rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Smith, who rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.
Meanwhile, Camden County never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 26-0 margin over McEachern. Camden County pushed the score to 20-0 by the end of the third, a deficit McEachern had little chance of recovering from.
Camden County had a senior duo take command as Jaden Dailey rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns and Ja'marley Riddle rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
Their wins bumped Mill Creek to 12-0 and Peachtree Ridge to 10-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Mill Creek has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 194.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Camden County struggles in that department as they've been even better at 243.9 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
