Great West recap Nov. 7, 2012
Scott extended the longest winning streak in Great West this week by beating Sacred Heart, 55-7. The victory was the 12th in a row for the Beavers.
Scott led the league in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on the Knights. Dalton Buehler ran for 109 yards and caught two passes for 86 yards in the win.
Yates Sutton was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 154 yards on 22 carries as Hugoton bested Sacred Heart. Teammate Garett Walker added to the ground attack by rushing for 132 yards.
Brett O'Neil put up the best numbers through the air as the Beavers defeated Bruce Graber's team. He finished with four completions for 137 yards and two touchdowns.
Holcomb's Tyler LaSalle and Jeremy Cox have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Great West in both passing and receiving yards. LaSalle has thrown for 1564 yards this season, while Cox, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 27 catches for 501 yards. Buehler from Scott leads the league in rushing with 1535 yards.
The Beavers made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 544 from 828. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 55-7 victory over the Knights last week.
