After flying high against the Piqua Indians last Saturday, the West Carrollton Pirates came back down to earth. West Carrollton fell 44-35 to Sidney on Wednesday. It was the first time this season that West Carrollton let down their fans at home.
Loss or not, West Carrollton got some senior leadership from Selena Frost and Iyanna Thompson. Frost scored 16 points along with five rebounds, while Thompson. scored eight points along with two steals.
West Carrollton's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6. As for Sidney, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Carrollton will take on Tippecanoe at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. As for Sidney, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Fairborn at 11:30 a.m. Fairborn comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
