The Eaglecrest Raptors were the 52-23 winner over the Vista PEAK Prep Bison when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Eaglecrest took a 53-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Vista PEAK Prep on Thursday. Eaglecrest has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Eaglecrest lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Shyann Farbes, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Farbes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Danivea Hughes was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds.
Eaglecrest's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Vista PEAK Prep, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eaglecrest will take on Smoky Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Smoky Hill is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. Vista PEAK Prep won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Rangeview at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th.
