On Saturday, things could have been worse for Eastside, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 67-50 loss to Metamora. While losing is never fun, Eastside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 62nd in New Jersey, while Metamora is ranked ninth in Illinois).
Despite the loss, Eastside still got an impressive performance from Jahaan Green, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Long, who scored nine points.
Eastside has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Metamora, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Eastside will take on Richwoods at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Metamora, Metamora and Hinsdale South will face off at 3:00 p.m. on January 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
