Murray County is on a nine-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Gordon Central a nine-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Murray County Indians will take on the Gordon Central Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Friday, Murray County was beaten by Haralson County 55-24. Murray County was down 35-10 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Meanwhile, Gordon Central fell victim to Model's stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 34-0 defeat at the hands of the Blue Devils.
The losses dropped Murray County to 1-8 and Gordon Central to 0-9.
Murray County didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Gordon Central in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 32-27 victory. Will Murray County repeat their success, or does Gordon Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
