The Saraland Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Galloway Scots at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Saturday, things could have been worse for Saraland, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 46-29 loss to St. Martin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Saraland has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Galloway's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Atlanta Classical Academy by a score of 72-69. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite their loss, Galloway saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Vaughn Murphy, who scored 18 points along with eight assists and five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Murphy scored a full 26.1% of Galloway's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. JB Clark was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds.
Saraland has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Galloway, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
