Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school football. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2023 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
For the season, Chiles piled up 88 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception. He also blocked two punts and an extra-point attempt.

In a 7-0 win over DeMatha (Hyattsville) in the WCAC title game, Chiles had 10 tackles, four tackles for loss and three sacks.
Behind the play of Chiles, Good Counsel held nine of 11 opponents to 10 points or less with two shutouts.
Chiles helped the Falcons win their final 10 games, including notable victories over Jones (Orlando, Fla.), Stone Bridge (Ashburn, Va.) and St. John's (Washington, D.C.). Good Counsel beat WCAC rivals Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) and DeMatha (Hyattsville) twice.
Regarded as a top 150 prospect in the Class of 2024 by
247Sports, Chiles committed to Florida in June.
Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team.
