The North Mesquite Stallions will be playing at home against the Poteet Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Poteet took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on North Mesquite, who comes in off a win.
North Mesquite posted their biggest victory since November 10, 2023 on Friday. They breezed by Spruce at home to the tune of 69-32. 69 seems to be a good number for North Mesquite as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
North Mesquite's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jermiah Grigsby, who scored 16 points along with five steals. Grigsby continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marquel Mouton, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Poteet's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 61-50 to Samuell.
North Mesquite has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. As for Poteet, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.
North Mesquite skirted past Poteet 48-45 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will North Mesquite repeat their success, or does Poteet have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
