If the Hilton Head Island Seahawks were feeling good off their 68-25 takedown of the Liberty Red Devils on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Hilton Head Island had to suffer through a rough 74-18 loss at the hands of Bishop Kenny. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hilton Head Island has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Hilton Head Island lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Leah Jackson. Despite the final result, she scored nine points.
It was another big night for Riley Talbert, who scored 20 points along with three steals for Bishop Kenny. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Makala DesJarlais, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Hilton Head Island has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Bishop Kenny, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Hilton Head Island won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Blue Ridge at 11:00 a.m. on December 23rd. Blue Ridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hilton Head Island in South Carolina (Blue Ridge is ranked 23rd, while Hilton Head Island is ranked 137th). Bishop Kenny won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sumter at 2:00 p.m. on December 23rd. Sumter is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
