Emme Dalhoff continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 26 points. Those 26 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Comfort, who posted eight points.
Meanwhile, Seminole hadn't done well against East Lake recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Seminole was the clear victor by a 51-29 margin over East Lake. With the Warhawks ahead 38-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Seminole's win came from a few key players Clearwater Central Catholic will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Riley Turknett, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 10 points and five steals. She has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Santore, who put up 11 points and five rebounds.
Seminole smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive matchups.
Seminole has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Tuesday's contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Dalhoff and Turknett. Dalhoff has been dynamite this season: she has averaged 16.7 points. For her part, Turknett has averaged 11.7 points and 4.1 steals.
