Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Southern Columbia Area Tigers walked away with it. They walked away with a 18-8 win over the Bald Eagles on Friday. The victory was nothing new for Southern Columbia Area as they're now sitting on six straight.
Louden Murphy was his usual excellent self, rushing for 142 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Murphy was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Garcia, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown.
Southern Columbia Area pushed their record up to 13-1 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.9 points. As for Bald Eagle Area, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-2.
Southern Columbia Area will face off against Dunmore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dunmore is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games. Bald Eagle Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
