The Swett Warriors won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Bethel at home and fell 78-38. Swett has not had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Bethel's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but H. Howard led the charge by scoring 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Howard is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was D. Stricklen, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Swett's defeat dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Bethel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Swett will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Titans at 7:00 p.m. Bethel is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Gauchos at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. El Cerrito will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 810th, while the Jaguars are ranked 362nd).
