The Marina Mariners entered their tilt with the Pacific Grove Breakers with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Marina walked away with a 63-54 win over Pacific Grove on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Marina also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Marina's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julius Robinson, who scored 19 points. Robinson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 11 times he's played. Jordan Bonnard Webb was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Marina pushed their record up to 18-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Pacific Grove, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marina will take on St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Marina knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 contests -- so hopefully St. Francis likes a good challenge. As for Pacific Grove, they will be playing at home against Watsonville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pacific Grove is facing Watsonville at the right time seeing as Watsonville is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
