Millard North got a good showing from Major Mosser, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Mosser has allowed since back in March.
At the plate, Jackson Smith made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Omaha Westside had already won 16 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it 17 on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Grizzlies.
Omaha Westside let Ty Hanna and Duncan Hasnen run wild. Hanna went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Hasnen went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Hanna a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jacob Schleifer, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Millard North's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-6. As for Omaha Westside, their victory bumped their record up to 24-2.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Millard North has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .464. However, it's not like Omaha Westside struggles in that department as they've averaged .452. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
