The Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cocoa Beach Minutemen at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pineapple Cove Classical Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Cocoa Beach will be coming in after a defeat.
Pineapple Cove Classical Academy has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They snuck past Master's Academy with a 23-18 win on Friday.
Meanwhile, Cocoa Beach's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 53-35 to Satellite.
Despite the loss, Cocoa Beach got a solid performance out of Baylea Holland, who scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Holland scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexie Overdorf, who scored seven points.
Pineapple Cove Classical Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-14. As for Cocoa Beach, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.
Pineapple Cove Classical Academy came up short against Cocoa Beach in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 30-18. Can Pineapple Cove Classical Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
