Baseball Recap: Jurupa Valley Wins Going Away Against San Jacinto

While Jurupa Valley put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for San Jacinto. The Jaguars blew past the Tigers 10-0.

Francisco Urena was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Jurupa Valley: the team is 6-0-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, Jerry Arevalo was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Adrian Navarro, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

Jurupa Valley's win bumped their record up to 10-5-1. As for San Jacinto, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
