Proctor is 2-8 against Rome Free Academy since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Proctor Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Rome Free Academy Black Knights at 6:30 p.m. Proctor comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Meanwhile, Rome Free Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against New Hartford on Friday, but they still walked away with a 48-43 victory. Given Rome Free Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while New Hartford is ranked 447th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rome Free Academy can attribute much of their success to Haylee Bostwick, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds, and Nijae Matthews, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Amiyah Ferebee, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Proctor's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Rome Free Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Proctor was dealt a bruising 59-30 loss at the hands of Rome Free Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bostwick, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Now that Proctor knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
