The Constitution Generals had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past Mastery Charter North - Pickett 71-49. Given Constitution's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Mastery Charter North - Pickett is ranked 509th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Constitution's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kyree Latimer led the charge by scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Perry Fields was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Constitution pushed their record up to 11-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Mastery Charter North - Pickett, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Constitution will take on Overbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Overbrook focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Monday. As for Mastery Charter North - Pickett, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Science Leadership Academy at Beeber at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
