Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tradition Prep). They managed a 77-72 win over the Benjamin Buccaneers on Saturday. While the Pirates didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Syncere Cannon had an outrageously good game as he went 13 for 23 on his way to 33 points in addition to six boards and five assists. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Avery Johnson was another key player, going 9 for 21 on his way to 27 points.

Cannon wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Tradition Prep was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Benjamin only racked up seven assists.

When it comes to explaining why Benjamin lost, don't look at Drew Buchanan. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Buchanan a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Rubin, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points.

Tradition Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Benjamin, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Tradition Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-69 victory against Cardinal Newman on the 30th. As for Benjamin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-53 loss against Calusa Prep on the 30th.
