The Westview Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Prairie Heights Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Westview has four straight victories, Prairie Heights has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Saturday, Westview didn't have too much trouble with Plymouth at home as they won 53-39. Given Westview's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Plymouth is ranked 262nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Prairie Heights came up short against Fort Wayne Canterbury on Tuesday and fell 56-43.
Westview's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Prairie Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.
Westview beat Prairie Heights 61-51 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westview since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
