Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Carrick

With a playoff win on the line, Carrick rose to the challenge on Thursday. They blew past the Perry Traditional Academy Commodores 15-0. Considering the Raiders have won five matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Riley Mares, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucas Geiger, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Carrick always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Perry Traditional Academy only posted an OBP of .077.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Carrick, bringing their record up to 9-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Perry Traditional Academy, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

As of now, neither Carrick nor the Commodores have any future games scheduled.
