Two dominant signal callers in Jordan Blackmon and Jordan Turner are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Dillon Christian Warriors will be playing at home against the Bethesda Academy Blazers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Dillon Christian will bounce into Friday's game after beating St. John's Christian Academy, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Warriors blew past the Cavaliers 39-13 on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their 13-point performance the contest before.
R Bracey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, picking up 71 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 41 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Dillon Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 264 rushing yards. They are 2-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Meanwhile, Bethesda Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 50-0 victory over Beaufort Academy. The Blazers' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a point in their last three games.
Dillon Christian better keep an eye on Ralo Wesley. He was instrumental in Bethesda Academy's win, picking up 88 receiving yards and three TDs. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Malachi Morris, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
Bethesda Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ka'Mond Young and Isaiah Jones. Jones is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season. Nicholas Jackson was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Special teams played a big role in the game for Bethesda Academy, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Morris, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Bethesda Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Dillon Christian has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 193.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Bethesda Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 187.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Dillon Christian was taken down by Bethesda Academy 35-6 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Blazers' Jordan Cheever, who rushed for 115 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries. Now that the Warriors know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
