Football Recap: Smithson Valley Finds Playoff Glory Versus Flour Bluff

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Smithson Valley walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 49-14 victory over the Flour Bluff Hornets. The result was nothing new for the Rangers, who have now won 11 contests by 22 points or more so far this season.

Despite the loss, Flour Bluff still got an impressive performance from Andre Mimms, who picked up 146 receiving yards and one touchdown. That's the most receiving yards Mimms has posted since back in October. Cameran Dickson was another key pass catcher, picking up 93 receiving yards and one touchdown.

The win (which was Smithson Valley's ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38 points. As for Flour Bluff, their loss dropped their record down to 12-2.

Smithson Valley will face off against Angleton at 2:30 p.m. on December 14th. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Smithson Valley has won seven straight at home, while Angleton won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Flour Bluff does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
