Even though the Payson Longhorns scored an imposing 62 points on Tuesday, the Show Low Cougars still came out on top. Show Low took their contest against Payson 71-62. This was payback for Show Low, who suffered a 80-73 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Show Low's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Preston Power, who scored 23 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Power has scored at least 25% of Show Low's points. Another player making a difference was Thomas Ellsworth, who scored 17 points.
Show Low has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Payson, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
