The Pine Forest Trojans suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were beaten by Richmond 79-33. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Pine Forest has scored all season.
Pine Forest lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Fredrick Logan, who scored four points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kabori Simmons, who scored eight points.
Paul McNeil Jr. was his usual excellent self, scoring 37 points along with six assists and six rebounds for Richmond. McNeil Jr. is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games he's played. JV Drake was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.
Pine Forest has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Richmond, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-5.
Pine Forest and Overhills will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Overhills is ranked 323rd, while Pine Forest is ranked 327th). As for Richmond, they will head out on the road to challenge Scotland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
