Northwest Halifax has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 27 points or more this season. They took their match at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 72-34 victory over Wilson Prep. With that win, Northwest Halifax brought their scoring average up to 50.7 points per game.
Camaya Adkins was her usual excellent self, scoring 35 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Northwest Halifax's points. Keyara Rook was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, Cary was able to grind out a solid victory over Apex on Friday, taking the game 33-26. The victory was just what Cary needed coming off of a 81-49 loss in their prior contest.
Cary's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyndall Brewington, who scored ten points along with six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Luci Augustson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Northwest Halifax's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points per game. As for Cary, their victory ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Northwest Halifax hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 50.7 points per game. It's a different story for Cary, though, as they've been averaging only 40.4 points per game. The only thing between Northwest Halifax and another offensive beatdown is Cary.
