After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Panola, the Grenada Chargers were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Olive Branch 56-54. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Grenada considering their 25-point performance the match before.
Grenada's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elyse Dorris, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and four steals. It was the first time this season that Dorris pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlei Brown, who scored 17 points.
Grenada is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Olive Branch, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.
Grenada will be playing at home against the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Olive Branch, they will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. South Panola will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
