The Oakes Tornadoes lost to the Valley City Hi-Liners on the road  by a   30-14 margin on Friday. The Tornadoes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Mathias Dahlstrom and  Andrew Rosendahl certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss.  Dahlstrom rushed for 122 yards, while  Rosendahl rushed for 45 yards and two  touchdowns.
 Oakes didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Zade Heier and  David Bakke.
Oakes now  has a losing record of 3-4. As for Valley City, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
 Coming up, Oakes will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Ellendale/Edgeley/Kulm  on Friday. Ellendale/Edgeley/Kulm will roll in looking for their  fifth straight  victory, something Oakes surely won't give up without a fight. As for Valley City, they are taking a road trip to  take on Northern Cass  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Jaguars' defense has only allowed 13.5  points per game  this season, so the Hi-Liners' offense will have their work cut out for them.
