The Wakulla War Eagles and the Fernandina Beach Pirates squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but sadly the Wakulla War Eagles had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 3-2. The game was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Wakulla couldn't quite close it out.
Rachaelei Porter wasn't going to let Fernandina Beach walk away unscathed as she scored both of Wakulla's goals. With that big game, she's now up to 12 goals this season.
Wakulla has not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season. As for Fernandina Beach, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4-1 record this season.
Wakulla does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fernandina Beach, they will head out on the road to take on South Walton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. South Walton is coming into the game with four straight victories at home, so Fernandina Beach is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
