Lower Dauphin is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Bishop McDevitt 18-3 on Monday. The Falcons have beaten the Crusaders the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Crusaders has come to flipping the script.
Sadie Borrelli and Sydney Matincheck made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Borrelli pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Matincheck struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. At the plate, Borrelli went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Matincheck got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lower Dauphin has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Palmyra struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Lower Dauphin's way against Palmyra in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Lower Dauphin made off with a 16-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
