Kermit is 2-8 against Tornillo since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Kermit Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to face off against the Tornillo Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Kermit focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Kermit ultimately got the result they hoped for. They walked away with a 56-48 victory over Stanton. Winning may never get old, but Kermit sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Jaden Bejarano was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 18 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Diego Juarez was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Tornillo was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 46-41 to Stanton.
Kermit's victory bumped their record up to 15-11. As for Tornillo, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Everything went Kermit's way against Tornillo in their previous meeting on January 2nd as Kermit made off with a 63-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kermit since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
