The Briar Woods Falcons can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They skirted past Lightridge 50-48. This was a revenge contest for Briar Woods, as the team was forced to settle for a 50-41 loss when these two played last Wednesday.
Briar Woods' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Devon Pettibone led the charge by scoring 21 points. Pettibone continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Ryan Brzezanski was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Briar Woods' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12. As for Lightridge, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-16.
Briar Woods didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-55 loss vs. Independence on the 7th. Lightridge has also already played their next matchup, a 61-41 defeat against Potomac Falls on the 7th.
