Montini Catholic is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Saint Ignatius College Prep is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Montini Catholic gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Marmion 6-5.
Drake Palmer looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kameron Cox was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Quin Paprockas, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, while Saint Ignatius College Prep put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Leo. The Wolfpack were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Lions. The result was nothing new for the Wolfpack, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Cam Andrews looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Oscar Molloy, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Reid Hites, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Saint Ignatius College Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leo only posted an OBP of .263.
Saint Ignatius College Prep's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Montini Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Montini Catholic has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Saint Ignatius College Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
