Meanwhile, CHAAMP HomeSchool's game on Tuesday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 61-48 win over Campbell. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 691st, while the Indians are ranked 1659th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Longview Christian better keep an eye on Caelan DeLisi. He was instrumental in CHAAMP HomeSchool's win, going 9 of 20 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight boards and six assists. That's the most points DeLisi has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Hefner, who had nine points and five rebounds.
CHAAMP HomeSchool smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.
Longview Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for CHAAMP HomeSchool, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Longview Christian has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.5 boards per game. However, it's not like CHAAMP HomeSchool struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.3 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Longview Christian strolled past CHAAMP HomeSchool when the teams last played back in December of 2016 by a score of 62-47. Does Longview Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will CHAAMP HomeSchool turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
