Mid-Eastern Top Player Performances of the Week
Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!
A Season-Best Effort from Simon Barber Leads North Decatur over Switzerland County
North Decatur was led to victory by Simon Barber, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Barber rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
Barber and North Decatur will face off against Edinburgh at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Lancers, probably because Barber had a solid game then too: he rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Jarrett Helman stepped things up a notch to give Shenandoah the 'W'. Helman was dynamite, forcing a fumble, making six total tackles, and defending a pass. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced a fumble, made six total tackles, and defended a pass.
For the season, Helman has averaged 7.1 total tackles per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 18.22 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 37.56 rushing yards.

Owen Eldridge and Co. Win Seventh in a Row
North Decatur picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Owen Eldridge. Eldridge turned in nothing short of a gem, picking up 60 receiving yards and a touchdown.
If the past is any indication, Eldridge could be in store for another big game when he takes on Edinburgh on Friday. Last Friday (the last time Eldridge saw the Lancers), he rushed for 42 yards and two touchdowns.

Big Game from Thackery As North Decatur Won 33-0
Corbin Thackery was instrumental in extending North Decatur's winning streak to seven on Friday. Thackery did his part (and then some), rushing for 122 yards for the 'W'. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 101 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Thackery is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Edinburgh on Friday. Thackery rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries the last time he and the Lancers duked it out last Friday.
