The Lincolnton Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They lost to West Lincoln on the road by a decisive 54-40 margin. Lincolnton has not had much luck with West Lincoln recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Lincolnton had strong showings from Curmiya Tillman, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Daphca Dyson, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Carolina Robinson was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 25 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 blocks for West Lincoln. Robinson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinlyn Avery, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Lincolnton has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for West Lincoln, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincolnton will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Bunker Hill at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Bunker Hill is on a four-game streak of home losses, Lincolnton a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. As for West Lincoln, they will head out on the road to square off against Bandys at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bandys will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
