The Chamberlain Storm are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge the Plant Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Chamberlain's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Spoto with a sharp 11-0 win.
Braylynn Ausman Hall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Ausman Hall was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Arianna R, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jada B, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Chamberlain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, Plant had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Riverview. The Panthers have beaten the Sharks the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Sharks has come to flipping the script.
Like Chamberlain, Plant also got a great game from a two-way player: Gigi Cozzens. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Cozzens was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sienna Payano was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Katherine Butler was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Chamberlain suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Plant in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can the Storm avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
