Given Wellpinit's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Mary Walker is ranked 186th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Mary Walker still got an impressive performance from Teko Cates, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. The match was Cates' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Gavin Lawrence was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Wellpinit pushed their record up to 2-0 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mary Walker, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
