Basketball Recap: Charlotte Country Day School Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After flying high against Cary Academy last Saturday, Charlotte Country Day School came back down to earth. The Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers received a blow on Thursday as they fell 57-41 to the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Eagles. The Buccaneers have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Charlotte Country Day School's loss came despite strong showings from Sam Vanderhave and Olive Bigham. Vanderhave posted 16 points and six rebounds, while Bigham went 8 of 18 on her way to 16 points and seven rebounds. Bigham's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cj Starnes, who put up four points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Charlotte Country Day School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Charlotte Country Day School's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-3. As for Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

Charlotte Country Day School wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-62 win against Daniel Boone on the 20th. As for Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-24 defeat against Providence Day on the 20th.
